H2 production
Hydrogen production by water electrolysis offers a very efficient use of the microwave plasmatron with key changes:
Up to 50-60% reduction in power consumption
Lower process pressure
Cost of 2.2-2.5 kWh/m3 of H2 produced
Conversion of electrical energy to electromagnetic energy and then to thermal energy, with efficiencies up to 98%
Increase in efficiency of the entire production process by up to 50%
Taking into account the latest trends in green energy, microwave plasma can be an effective tool for hydrogen production. Even on board a moving vehicle!
Our solution
Our proposed combined hydrogen production method (High Temperature Electrolyzer) is based on the basic properties of microwave plasma.
The fundamental and main difference between the microwave plasmatron and other high temperature sources is the absence of electrodes and other flammable substances (gas, oil, diesel, coal, etc.) that pollute the final products with hazardous substances.
The process of microwave plasma action itself consists of three components - high temperature, ionization and electromagnetic effect, which allows to achieve the highest speed and depth of steam decomposition and molecular dissociation.
Did you know?
- The most environmentally friendly way to produce hydrogen is by electrolysis of water
- This method of hydrogen production accounts for less than 4% of the world's total production (the main reason is too high costs)
